Danta-Ramgarh Sikar

Danta and Ramgarh are two villages settled on two sides of the same river. Danta and Ramgarh are located 52 k.m.away from Sikar.These two villages have taken the form of a town together, Therefore, they are collectively known as Danta -Ramgrh. These two villages have individual ancient forts. The Ramgarh fort was built by Charkhani Shekhawat “Guman Singh” in 1744. Guman Singh was one of the commanders of Jaipur King “Sawai Jai Singh Second”. This fort is considered one of strong forts of Rajasthan.Besides the fort Ramgarh’s notable places are:- Gopinath Ji Temple, Sitaram Ji Temple, Jain Temple, Havelis and frescoes. People also come here from far and wide to see “Ramlila” played on Dussehra. About 150 years ago of Ramgarh fort, there was a great saint named “Balinath” Whose tomb and footwear are enshrined in the fort. He is worshipped in every house of Ramgarh as the Village Deity.
